Size guide
Match the print to the furniture below it, then check the viewing distance.
Rule of thumb
A single piece reads well at roughly two thirds of the furniture width underneath it. Above a two-seater sofa that is usually 50x70cm; above a double bed, 70x100cm.
Common arrangements
Three sizes cover most walls.
- Single statement piece: 70x100cm, centre at eye level
- Three-piece row: 3 × 30x40cm with equal gaps
- Gallery wall: five to six prints mixing 21x30cm and 30x40cm
- Long low wall: panorama at 50x70cm or wider
Viewing distance
As a guide, a print is comfortable to view at about 1.5 times its long edge. A 70x100cm piece is best seen from about 1.5 m away, which suits a seating area rather than a corridor.
